ControlP.io ("ControlP," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit controlp.io, create an account, request a quote, place an order, upload artwork or other materials, communicate with us, receive SMS or MMS messages from us, or use any of our print, design, signage, vehicle-wrap, custom-merchandise, installation, web-development, or related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, platforms, or services that maintain their own privacy policies.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
We may collect information you provide when you contact us, request a quote, create an account, place an order, complete a form, upload a file, join an SMS or email list, schedule an appointment, or otherwise interact with us. This information may include:
- Your name, company name, job title, email address, telephone number, billing address, shipping address, and other contact details.
- Account credentials and account preferences.
- Quote requests, order details, product selections, project specifications, measurements, installation details, deadlines, delivery instructions, and customer-service records.
- Artwork, photographs, logos, designs, text, files, brand assets, website content, and other materials you submit for a project.
- Payment, billing, tax, and transaction information. Payment-card details may be collected and processed directly by our payment providers rather than stored by ControlP.io.
- Communications you send to us by email, telephone, text message, chat, contact form, social media, or through a customer dashboard.
- Marketing and communication preferences.
- SMS or MMS consent records, including the date, time, source, method, form, campaign, telephone number, and status of an opt-in or opt-out request.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use our website or online Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information, including:
- Internet Protocol address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, and general geographic area.
- Pages viewed, links selected, referring pages, dates and times of visits, session duration, cart activity, and other interactions with the Services.
- Cookie identifiers, analytics data, and similar online activity information.
- Information used to detect fraud, protect accounts, diagnose errors, and maintain website security.
1.3 Information From Other Sources
We may receive information from payment processors, shipping carriers, fulfillment partners, identity or authentication providers, advertising or analytics providers, social-media platforms, referral sources, business customers, and other parties involved in providing the Services or completing a transaction.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Provide quotes, proofs, products, installations, design work, web-development services, and other requested Services.
- Create and manage accounts, orders, projects, invoices, payments, shipments, deliveries, warranties, and support requests.
- Communicate about estimates, proof approvals, appointments, project milestones, production status, order status, pickup, shipping, delivery, installation, account activity, security, and customer support.
- Send marketing messages, newsletters, design tips, product announcements, promotions, surveys, or special offers when permitted by law and when the required consent has been obtained.
- Personalize and improve our website, products, communications, and customer experience.
- Maintain records of consent, preferences, opt-outs, transactions, and communications.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, prohibited activity, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with applicable law, legal process, accounting requirements, tax obligations, and lawful governmental requests.
- Protect the rights, property, safety, and security of ControlP.io, our customers, website users, service providers, and others.
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and resolve disputes.
3. SMS and MMS Messaging Privacy
This section applies when you provide a mobile telephone number or communicate with ControlP.io by SMS or MMS.
3.1 Types of Messages
Depending on the consent you provide and your relationship with us, ControlP.io may send:
- Transactional and customer-care messages, such as quote follow-ups, proof-approval requests, order confirmations, payment notifications, project updates, appointment reminders, production or installation updates, pickup notices, delivery notifications, account notices, and responses to support requests.
- Promotional messages, such as print, sign, wrap, apparel, design, or web-service offers; new-product announcements; design tips; newsletters; and other marketing communications.
Consent to promotional text messages is separate from consent to transactional or customer-care messages. Consent to receive promotional SMS or MMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
3.2 How You May Opt In
You may opt in through a clearly disclosed method, such as checking an unchecked consent box on a ControlP.io form, entering your mobile number in a designated SMS sign-up form, texting an advertised keyword, signing a written authorization, or making another affirmative request that clearly identifies the messages you agree to receive.
We may retain records showing when, where, and how consent was provided. An inbound message authorizes us to respond to that particular conversation, but it does not automatically authorize unrelated or ongoing promotional messages.
3.3 Message Frequency and Charges
- Promotional SMS or MMS messages may be sent up to four (4) times per month.
- Transactional and customer-care message frequency varies based on your requests, orders, projects, appointments, account activity, and communications with us.
- Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier determines any charges.
3.4 Opting Out and Getting Help
You may withdraw SMS or MMS consent at any time by replying STOP to a message from ControlP.io. We also honor standard opt-out requests such as END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT when received and reasonably identifiable. You may receive one final message confirming that your opt-out has been processed. After that confirmation, we will not send additional messages through that messaging program unless you provide new consent.
For assistance, reply HELP, call (480) 999-9906, or email hello@controlp.io.
3.5 Mobile Information and Consent Are Not Shared for Marketing
ControlP.io does not sell, rent, or share mobile telephone numbers, SMS/MMS opt-in data, or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
All categories of disclosure described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent. We may provide limited mobile information to vendors that act solely on our behalf to transmit messages, maintain consent and opt-out records, prevent fraud, or provide customer support, and those vendors may not use the information for their own marketing. We may also disclose information when legally required.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, maintain shopping-cart or account sessions, understand website performance, prevent fraud, and improve our Services.
You can adjust browser settings to block or delete cookies. Some features may not function correctly when cookies are disabled. Where required, we will provide additional notice or choices regarding non-essential cookies.
5. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
5.1 Service Providers
We may use vendors that provide website hosting, cloud storage, payment processing, fraud prevention, analytics, customer support, email delivery, SMS/MMS delivery, authentication, printing, production, fulfillment, installation, shipping, delivery, accounting, and professional services. These providers may access information only as reasonably necessary to perform services for us and subject to appropriate obligations.
5.2 Production, Fulfillment, and Business Partners
When necessary to complete a project or order, we may disclose relevant specifications and contact or delivery information to printers, fabricators, installers, subcontractors, carriers, suppliers, or other fulfillment partners.
5.3 Legal, Safety, and Compliance Purposes
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law or legal process; respond to a lawful request; enforce an agreement; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or protect the rights, property, or safety of ControlP.io, our customers, or others.
5.4 Business Transactions
Information may be disclosed or transferred as part of a proposed or completed merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
5.5 At Your Direction or With Your Consent
We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or provide consent for a specific disclosure.
The disclosures in this Section do not permit third parties or affiliates to use your mobile number or SMS/MMS opt-in data for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Payment Information
Payments may be handled by third-party payment processors. Their collection and use of payment information are governed by their own privacy notices and contractual requirements. We may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, billing details, and limited payment-method information needed to process an order, prevent fraud, issue a refund, or maintain business records.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts and business records, complete orders and projects, honor communication preferences, document consent and opt-outs, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements.
Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected. We may retain opt-out records to ensure that future messaging preferences are honored.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No website, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a response to a privacy request.
You may manage communications as follows:
- Text messages: Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.
- Marketing email: Use the unsubscribe link in the message.
- Account information: Update available information through your account or contact us.
- Cookies: Adjust your browser or available cookie settings.
- Privacy requests: Email hello@controlp.io with the subject line Privacy Request.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests when permitted by law and when sufficient authorization and identity verification are provided. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
Opting out of promotional communications does not prevent us from sending non-promotional communications that are necessary to complete a transaction, provide requested support, protect an account, comply with law, or administer an existing customer relationship.
10. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for businesses and adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
11. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our website may link to third-party websites, applications, payment services, social-media platforms, or other services. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of those third parties. Review their policies before providing information to them.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. When required by law, we will provide additional notice or request renewed consent.
